Getting the Hydra Fang and actually making it useful

The Hydra Fang is a two-handed sword you can get from killing Lizardman Shamans in the Lizardman Canyon, south of Falador. It drops around 0.5-1% from them, which means you are going to be killing a lot of lizards before it shows up. The drop table does not lie. The weapon itself has an attack bonus of +76 and a strength bonus of +35, with a swing speed of 4.0 ticks. For a long time people ignored it because the Arclight exists, but if you are running low on supply or stuck between the Goblin Battlehammer and the Arclight, it is a solid step forward. The Arclight only works against demons, so the Fang actually gets more use in a lot of regular content. The real reason to equip it is the swing speed. Four ticks between attacks is respectable, and the base damage pool is higher than most weapons in the same price range. What most guides skip is the hit selection math. The Fang uses a 2-handed attack style, which means your accuracy is capped differently than single-handed weapons. If you are comparing it to a Abyssal Whip, the Whip hits faster but the Fang outdamages it in prolonged encounters where you are not dodging. Against the Lizardman Shamans themselves, wearing full nature armor and using the Fang is actually viable, though the lizards have 250 defense and your hits will be mediocre unless you are level 80+. I run a 82/75/80 stats setup with it for LMS and it lands consistent 20+ hits on average players. There is a practical problem that nobody mentions on the forums: the inventory space. A Hydra Fang takes up two slots. That means you cannot carry both a whip and this, and you have to plan around meals or super restores differently. My workaround was to buy a stackable herb box to fill the second slot and avoid carrying cheese or shark stacks that eat inventory. It sounds silly, but if you are grinding the canyon for hours you do not want to sit down every ten minutes because your inventory is full. Another issue is the weakness to dragonfire. Lizardman Shamans do not breathe fire, so you are safe there, but if you go anywhere near their elite cousins or dragon guards, you need a dragonfire shield or a spirit shield on your other slot. The Fang cannot be used alongside a shield, obviously, but I have seen people try to equip a d'hide body and still forget they cannot hold a prayer potion in the off-hand. It takes muscle memory about three weeks to stop doing it.

If you are looking for a download link, there is not one. This is Old School Runescape, not a modded private server where someone handed out a DLL. You get it by playing. Kill the Lizardman Shamans, collect the Fangs, wear them when your gear list is thin. Upgrade to an Arclight or a Scythe when you have the money. The Fang will serve you until then.
